  • No additional hiring fee is charged when you hire a candidate who posted a resumé as a Public Listing.
Confidential Resumés

Recruiter Resumés

  • When you're interested in a Recruiter Listing, you will be referred to the firm or agency representing that candidate at no charge.
  • A contingency placement fee would be payable to the recruiting firm only if you hire the candidate, and only if the candidate remains in your employ for an agreed-upon period of time.
  • The terms of contingency placement fees can be discussed, with no obligation, directly with the recruiting firm.
  • We recommend that you reach an agreement concerning fees with the recruiter prior to interviewing any candidates represented by the recruiter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions Answers
Where does Lawmatch obtain the resumés that it refers to employers? Lawmatch.com incorporates all active profiles in the resume banks of over 20 top national and regional law schools. We also represent thousands of other candidates who have registered through our national site at lawmatch.com, or through other Lawmatch-powered Websites such as NBA CareerNet, the National Bar Association's career center for diversity recruiting. Many private recruiters and search firms also supply Lawmatch's resume bank with detailed (but anonymous) profiles of candidates they represent (candidates represented by recruiters are clearly marked). Altogether there are over 5,000 active and passive job seekers in the Lawmatch network, ranging from experienced attorneys to law students to legal assistants.

Lawmatch also maintains ongoing advertising campaigns in several prominent legal trade publications and professional journals. Lawmatch advertising is highly effective because of its 1-800-Lawmatch telephone number, and because a single Internet listing gives each candidate continuous exposure to thousands of employers and employment opportunities.

In addition, Lawmatch is listed in all of the major Internet directories, and is linked to dozens of targeted legal industry and general public search engines.
Are candidates pre-screened at all? Yes. Although Lawmatch typically does not conduct in-person interviews, all candidate profiles are reviewed to verify that they meet our qualifying criteria, and to make sure that their skills, experience and job objectives are accurately positioned in our database. Lawmatch conducts extensive telephone interviews with confidential candidates, the results of which are summarized in the "Career Objectives" section of the candidate profile.
Will the search be accurate? Lawmatch will present to you only those resumés that match your hiring criteria. Hiring criteria include skills, experience, state bar admissions, education, geographic location, practice specialty and others.
Why does Lawmatch make a distinction between Public Listings and Confidential Listings? Our Public database contains the resumés of candidates who are not currently employed and who wish to generate maximum exposure for their resumés. These active job seekers typically read and respond to help wanted ads, and can usually be hired without paying an agency or recruiters fee. Lawmatch brings you these candidates more quickly, at less cost, and with better targeting than classified advertising.

Our Confidential database contains the resumés of individuals who are currently employed but are interested in exploring more rewarding or challenging opportunities. These candidates tend to be much more selective in their job search and are less likely to read or respond to classified advertising.

Confidential candidates cost substantially more than Public candidates to recruit and maintain in our database and this disparity in costs is reflected in our two-tier rate structure.
